We have hospice volunteer roles with direct patient involvement as well as clerical/office tasks

Opportunities

Hospice of New Mexico's volunteers are provided the preparation and training they need to comfortably and successfully complete their chosen assignments. Some volunteers receive additional training based on their selected area of service:

Bereavement Support

Opportunities exist to assist with support groups, make follow-up calls to families, and help with memorial services.

Palliative Pathways program

Our Palliative Pathway program works to provide assistance, companionship and other complementary services to patients who have a life expectancy of less than eighteen months.

Organization Support

In the administrative offices, volunteers provide much-needed support, including answering the phone, working on the computer, helping with mailings, photocopying and other tasks.

Patient & Family Care

Providing respite care and support for the patient and family is one of the most personal ways a volunteer can become involved with Hospice of New Mexico. The volunteer serves as a friend, visiting the patient where he or she lives.

Student Program

Students are actively involved in many exciting projects, including life review, arts and crafts, and our memorial services.
