What else can I do?

Some of our patients and families have wanted to give to Hospice of New Mexico.  Money that is donated to our hospice is used entirely for patients and families in need of help.  Sometimes it’s to help purchase items that they are in need of, like a fan for cooling in the heat, or for assistance in paying utility bills or funeral services.  Sometimes donations are asked for from the family in lieu of flowers. We are so grateful for donations made to help the patients under our care.  Please be aware that since we are not a charitable organization, donations are not tax-deductible.  You can click here to make a donation.

Our volunteers play a very important role in the care of our patients and are a necessary part of our team.  Volunteers are trained by our Volunteer Coordinator and can help our patients and families in many ways.  Visit our Volunteer page for more information.

Other ways to help

We have been fortunate to have people from the community supply items of comfort such as quilts and blankets to our patients, offering a little bit of  love and caring in their own way.  These items are packaged in a “welcome kit” that each patient receives when they come on service and are a symbol of the comfort we offer.  If you would like to help please contact our volunteer coordinator to see how you might be involved, either by helping make some of these items, donating supplies or funds to help keep our quilters busy!

Employment opportunities

Hospice work is not only rewarding but meaningful.  At Hospice of New Mexico, we pride ourselves on creating a team of caring professionals who value not only excellence, but compassion to their patients, families and each other.  Without compassion and support in the work place, we cannot offer the same to our patients.  If you are interested in becoming part of our Hospice of New Mexico family, please contact us at 505-872-2300.  We employ certified nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, home health aides and other positions.
